Midnight Bark Designs does not offer binding services.
How to Calculate Your Quilting Services:
Multiply the width of your quilt by the length; this gives you the total square inches of your quilt. (Example: A quilt is 60” wide and 70” long. 60” x 70” = 4,200)
Take your “total square inches” and multiply it by $0.03. (Example: Our quilt above is 4,200 square inches. 4,200 x $0.03 = $126.00)
The total cost to get a 60” x 70” quilt is $134 (plus tax, if applicable). The breakdown is as follows: $126.00 for quilting and $8.00 thread fee.
Preparation
Quilt Top
- Please stitch a “stay stitch” (a seam 1/8” away from the edge of your entire quilt top). This will help keep the seams from pulling apart as the quilt is loaded on the frame.
- Measure your quilt across the top, bottom and center. All measurements should be about the same. If not, puckering may occur during the quilting process.
- Border that do not lay flat will cause tucks, pleats, and/or fullness. If that happens, Midnight Bark Designs will do its best to minimize the issues, but will not be liable.
- Press your quilt top.
- Trim and/or remove any loose threads from the back of your quilt.
- Mark the top of the quilt with a safety pin AND a note.
Backing/Batting
- Backing and batting (if providing) should be at least 4” bigger on all four sides of the quilt top.
- Please ensure backing is square (leave salvages on).
- Press your backing.
- Mark the top of the backing with a safety pin AND a note.
Shipping
If you are ok with shipping – I’m ok with shipping.
Shipping to Midnight Bark Designs - Please place all items in a strong ziplock bag or plastic bag (like a trash bag if you need something larger) before placing them in the shipping box. This will help keep your masterpieces safe during the shipping journey, if your package gets wet. Please, DO NOT label the box with "Quilt," this will help deter (but not completely prevent) theft. Finally, please be aware that once your quilt is in the hands of whichever shipping services you've selected, Midnight Bark Designs is not responsible for lost packages - it is out of our hands. I HIGHLY recommend a service that provides a tracking number, at a minimum. As soon as your package arrives, you will be notified!
Shipping from Midnight Bark Designs – Your quilted masterpiece will be sent to the address you request, via UPS. You will be sent the tracking number once one is created. As mentioned above, please be aware that once your quilt is in the hands of the shipping company, Midnight Bark Designs is not responsible for lost packages - it is out of our hands.
Payment
Midnight Bark Designs accepts the following payment types: cash, Venmo and credit cards. Please note that a 3% service charge will be added to all Venmo and credit card transactions.
Unclaimed Quilts
Sometimes things happen and quilts become orphans. Midnight Bark Designs will make a good faith effort to ensure your quilt is returned to you. If, after 60 days of notification of completion, no one has claimed your quilt, nor has anyone called to tell us what is happening, we will consider them orphans. Orphans will be donated to a local charity of our choice, to help spread cheer and kindness into the world.

Finally, please know, as humans, errors could be made. Midnight Bark Designs will do its best with each quilt, but the quality and integrity of your quilt top and backing can reflect the quilting. Examples are (but not limited to) holes in seams and/or fabrics, fullness in the borders, uneven sashing or borders, and/or the quilt top in general.
